Refurbishment for a modern shopping experience

The complete appearance of the T.E.C. Erfurt was refreshed on the basis of a design concept: The glass facades now feature a trendy anthracite gray, the portals of the three entrances were given new cladding, signage in the outdoor area was revised and its color adapted to the concept. The planting and paving in front of the Aldi store was renewed and the shopping cart stations in the parking areas were adapted to the new concept. The T.E.C. logo was also redesigned. The modern T.E.C. lettering has been retained, while the striking large letters are now green and represent the center's new positioning for the future. In connection with the expansion and remodeling measures, the technical building equipment in the relevant property and rental areas was also completely replaced or renovated in some cases. A comprehensive refurbishment concept was implemented in the mall. The aim of the refurbishment was to offer customers of the retail park a modern shopping experience with a high quality of stay. To this end, a customer guidance system and a new color concept were implemented.

Tenant mix

The main focus of the redesign is the area of the exterior former two-storied DIY store. The creation of a spacious two-sided corner entrance, visible from afar, with a direct escalator and elevator connection into the rental area meant that the second floor could be fully let to the sports specialist Decathlon. The adjacent outdoor area on the first floor has also been given a sporty design with goals and basketball hoops. Here, customers can not only test sporting goods, the area is also available for free use by the neighborhood and thus makes a valuable contribution to networking with the adjacent residential quarters. The first floor area of the former DIY store has been divided. In keeping with the theme of the new Decathlon sports store, a fitness studio of the FitX chain, which is expanding nationwide, will be located here. The second area on the first floor was given to the existing tenant Aldi. By moving its store out of the mall, Aldi is increasing its sales area to the size currently desired and required. With this step, the T.E.C.'s local supply competence in the food sector was further expanded and strengthened. In the inner area of the Erfurt retail park, the largest part of the former Aldi rental space is leased to the pet food specialist Das Futterhaus. The existing tenant dm-drogerie markt additionally leases a smaller area and thus increases its sales space.
