MEC as a company operates according to a clearly defined set of values. This basically consists of the following 6 aspects:

INTEGER: We always behave in accordance with corporate values, are reliable and correct, and incorruptible.

INTERDISCIPLINARY: We work together and across disciplines to always find optimal solutions with innovative approaches for our customers.

RESPONSIBLE: We are aware of the responsibility of our activities. We are reliable and always committed.

PARTNERSHIP: We treat each other and our business partners with respect and appreciation. Through collegial cooperation and a trusting relationship, we achieve our goals faster and more effectively.

COMMUNICATIVE: Through timely and comprehensive communication, we ensure a smooth flow of information. The personal conversation always has priority.

 

MEC's actions are also based on clearly formulated business principles that are binding for all. These principles are as follows:

Company principles

We strictly separate personal interests from those of the company.
When dealing with business partners, we represent MEC and its interests. We must not seek a personal advantage in these situations. Otherwise, we would put our own advantage above the interests and goals of the company. In doing so, we harm ourselves and endanger the reputation of MEC - sometimes all it takes is a suspicion. Therefore, we avoid even the appearance of seeking a personal advantage contrary to the interests of the company. If we are not sure, we contact our supervisor or our Compliance Officer.
We do not offer anyone an unfair advantage.
Whether public administration, other companies or other third parties - we do not offer anyone an unfair advantage or allow anyone to receive such an advantage. This applies even if granting the advantage would make no difference with regard to the specific business decision. We must avoid even the appearance of seeking to exert influence through extraneous means. Exceptions exist only with regard to

  • Gifts that are symbolic or of low value and are therefore appropriate by way of exception; gifts of cash or comparable benefits are generally prohibited.
  • As are invitations to business meals, which remain within reasonable limits.
We do not exploit our position for personal gain.
Demanding or accepting a personal benefit in connection with official activities is taboo for us! It does not matter whether an official decision would be influenced or not. Even the appearance or suspicion of influence must not arise. The only exceptions to this rule are gifts that are symbolic or of low value and are therefore appropriate by way of exception

  • Gifts of cash or comparable benefits are generally prohibited,
  • As are invitations to business meals, which remain within reasonable limits.

  • Employees who are expressly authorized to disclose information and documents,
  • Information that has already been published or publicly confirmed by the MEC.


In case of doubt, the data protection officer should be consulted.
We do not discriminate against anyone.
We are committed to diversity, equal opportunities and tolerance. Each and every one of us. We are committed to opposing discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, belief, disability, age, sexual orientation or gender. All forms of harassment (e.g. bullying or sexual harassment) are taboo for us. Of course, this applies not only within the company, but also to third parties. If we encounter or learn of a discriminatory situation, we immediately speak to a supervisor or our Compliance Officer.
We are a fair employer.
We ensure fair working conditions at all our sites throughout Germany. Fairness means, for example, that we respect the right of employees to organize themselves within the framework of national rights and laws. We also comply with labor laws in other respects.
We respect the applicable law.
Whatever we do, we do it on the basis of the law and applicable company policies. Compliance with applicable law takes precedence over any contrary instruction from a superior. To ensure that we act accordingly, we familiarize ourselves with the laws, regulations and guidelines that are important to us and keep abreast of relevant new developments.
