Hamborner REIT engages MEC for center management

In the late summer, TH Real Estate sold the Westoria retail park in Gießen to HAMBORNER REIT AG for 32 million euros. The real estate experts, focused on highly-profitable commercial properties, have now engaged MEC METRO-ECE Centermanagement for the on-site center management.

“We are very pleased that HAMBORNER REIT AG has engaged us. Overall, it has been a very successful year for MEC. Along with HAMBORNER, we were able to win over three other investors with our achievements” said the COO of MEC, Christian Schröder.

A strengthened outward image
Since MEC took over control of the complex located on Gottlieb-Daimler-Straße in Gießen in July 2014, things have changed quite a bit in the 32-year old retail park. The leasing department has secured long-term extensions of several rental contracts with existing tenants. It has also secured a new tenant, the nail studio New York Nails. With visual highlights in the mall, an internal and exterior paintjob as well as new benches, flowers and decorative elements, MEC has made considerable improvements to center visitors’ visitor experience. In addition, the introduction of an advertising slogan and a new website have led to an increase in awareness of the center.
