Union Investment Real Estate contracts MEC for the management of the Breisgau-Center

At the start of the month, MEC METRO-ECE Centermanagement took over the commercial and technical property, center and leasing management of the Breisgau-Center in Freiburg. The contract was issued by Union Investment Institutional Property GmbH, which has been administering the retail park since 2011 in its retail fund for institutional investors "UII Shopping No. 1".

"We are delighted that Union Investment, one of the leading investment companies in Germany and one of the largest investors in the shopping center sector, was persuaded by our performance," says COO of MEC, Christian Schröder.

Breisgau-Center Freiburg
The retail park is advantageously located for traffic, in the Haid business park south-east of Freiburg. Built in 1975 and last revitalised in 2010, the Breisgau-Center today has a rental space of around 17,000 m², and more than 20 shops. Service providers and dining facilities round out the tenant portfolio, alongside anchor tenants Real and Adler. The Center has over 935 free parking spaces.
