New mandate for the MEC since 1 January 2020

As of 1 January 2020, MEC has taken over the management of SchwabenGalerie Stuttgart. The property is located in Stuttgart's Vaihingen district and has a total rental space of almost 42,000 square meters.

The contract includes property management, center management and leasing management. It comes from Swiss Life Asset Managers / Corpus Sireo, who acquired the SchwabenGalerie Stuttgart in February 2017 for a fund of their subsidiary Swiss Life Kapitalverwaltungsgesellschaft mbH (Swiss Life KVG).

The center manager of the SchwabenGalerie Stuttgart is Franz Jebavy. Along with him, MEC has also taken over the four technical colleagues and the assistant from the former operator. "We are very pleased with the trust Swiss Life Asset Managers / Corpus Sireo has placed in us and look forward to managing and developing this attractive property. In addition to the 43 retailers, the SchwabenGalerie also houses a hotel, office space and a multi-storey car park with around 1,000 parking spaces," explains MEC COO Christian Schröder.

Local suppliers, offices, hotel: The 3 pillars of SchwabenGalerie

The SchwabenGalerie in Stuttgart-Vaihingen stands on three pillars. On 2/3 of the area there are 43 retail shops with the local suppliers and anchor tenants Kaufland and Aldi, as well as the anchor tenants dm Drogeriemarkt, Media Markt and Modepark Röther. Further fashion shops and service providers such as cobblers, dry cleaners and opticians as well as 8 gastronomy units complete the offer.

The remaining third of the space is attractive office space and the space of the four-star business hotel Vienna House Easy Mo Stuttgart with 131 rooms and 5 conference rooms.

The property, which was built in 2004, has a sophisticated exterior architecture and consists of four buildings grouped around a glazed atrium. The five-storey main building houses the majority of the retail space distributed over three floors.

Easily accessible by car and public transport

The SchwabenGalerie is centrally located in the Vaihingen district, which has a population of approx. 45,000. A good motorway connection (A831, A81, A8) as well as federal highways (B14, B27, B295) are available. The infrastructural connection of the property to public transport is also good.

The University of Stuttgart with 10 faculties, the Daimler Global Training Center, the Stuttgart Engineering Park as well as a base of the US Army are located in the catchment area of the SchwabenGalerie.
