The MEC team is already looking forward to the new trainees, who were able to prove themselves during a large application day at the Düsseldorf headquarters.

MEC expands training opportunities

• New commercial training “real estate agent (m/f/d)” at MEC
• Cooperation with the European Training Center for the Housing and Real Estate Industry (EBZ)
• Two trainees will start on 1.9.2022

MEC, the retail property specialist and national market leader for the operation of retail parks, will offer young professionals the opportunity to complete commercial training. On September 1, 2022, two young professionals will start their three-year apprenticeship as real estate agents at the retail property specialist. During this time, the young talents get to know all the departments that are required for the job description. In terms of content, the focus is again on management and control in the company and in building management. For the theoretical part of the training, the trainees will in future visit the European Training Center for the Housing and Real Estate Industry (EBZ) in Bochum.

The commercial training at MEC is new, but the topic of employee development is rich in tradition. “The training and further education of our own employees is a central cornerstone of our success. Therefore, the new training is an ideal addition to the real estate management dual course and our trainee programs in center and leasing management,” says Gina Wiening, training officer at MEC. "Building talent and developing it individually is particularly important to us."

The demand was great right from the start: the MEC training team received over 60 applications. During an all-day application day at the Düsseldorf headquarters, the six best applicants were invited and went through various tasks. With success: The MEC was able to offer two of them an apprenticeship contract. “An exciting time awaits the young talents in the promising retail real estate industry. As they go through all the relevant departments, they get to know the MEC from the ground up. Our goal is therefore to use them in administration-related positions after they have successfully completed their studies and thus to integrate them into the company in the long term,” says Gina Wiening.
