MEC METRO-ECE Centermanagement GmbH & Co. KG extends its portfolio to include two new locations in North Rhine-Westphalia: the Brücken Center in Remscheid and Galerie Troisdorf. Once again, the order for leasing, center and property management is from TIAA Henderson Real Estate (TH Real Estate). This international investment company has become the second-largest client of MEC, with a total of seven properties.
"We are pleased about these two modern locations with good occupancy," explains the COO of MEC, Christian Schröder. "Our collaboration has proven successful, thus we have decided to place Galerie Troisdorf, the first center out of our newly launched TIAA Henderson Core German Retail Fund, as well as the Brücken Center, an existing property from the Henderson German Retail Income Fund, in the hands of MEC," adds Kathrin Andres, Head of Retail Asset Management Germany at TH Real Estate.
Brücken Center Remscheid
The Brücken Center, which opened in 2009, is situated in a prime location directly at the Remscheid main station, close to the pedestrian area. A total of 20 retail and office spaces are distributed on a rental space of 13,400 m² and two building complexes. A bridge offers a connection between the shopping center in the south and the office building in the north. Anchor tenants of this modern retail park include Kaufland, Intersport, Takko and Ernsting’s family.
Galerie Troisdorf
Galerie Troisdorf is situated in close proximity to the city center and is linked to the well-established main shopping street in Troisdorf. Built in 2013, this shopping center is characterised by modern architecture and its natural stone facades and big glass fronts offer a clear contrast to the clinker facades typical to this area. The passage on the ground floor provides a direct path to the Kaufland hypermarket and the neighbouring cinema. 20 tenants are spread out on a total of about 8,700 m² rental space, including the magnets Saturn, C&A and Drogerie Müller.
