MEC takes over management of the Römerpassage in Mainz

Mixed-use property in a prime downtown location strengthens the portfolio

MEC, one of Germany's leading retail real estate managers, is taking over site management for the Römerpassage in Mainz. The Düsseldorf-based company has now been commissioned to do so by asset manager UBS Real Estate.

MEC emerged victorious in a competitive bidding process and will be responsible for the commercial and technical property management, as well as the leasing management, of the retail location in the capital of Rhineland-Palatinate.

Urban Usage Concept with Future Potential

The Römerpassage combines retail, residential, office, and healthcare services across approximately 16,000 square meters of leasable space. With 27 stores spread over three floors—including retailers such as Hugendubel, Depot, and Søstrene Grene—the property ranks among the most significant inner-city retail properties in Rhineland-Palatinate. In addition, offices, medical practices, and apartments ensure a diverse mix of uses and consistent foot traffic. Among the tenants are notable businesses such as CSL Plasma, a blood donation center.
