MEC starts in new working environments

  • Corona-compliant inauguration of the new headquarters in Düsseldorf
  • Activity-based working office concept promotes teamwork, communication and productivity
  • With the new room concept "more PS for the customers"

Starting shot for new work at MEC: yesterday, the retail property manager moved into his new headquarters in Düsseldorf and digitally inaugurated it with all employees in a team meeting.

The communication-friendly office concept with a mix of quiet work, collaboration and meeting areas in a generally open area promotes exchange, cooperation and the working pace of the interdisciplinary MEC teams. "With the new room concept, we are sending out a signal that we want to work even more openly and productively in the future," says MEC COO Christian Schröder. "That brings a benefit for everyone involved: more fun at work and more PS for our customers."

The new office is based on the concept of Activity Based Working: From now on, employees have the opportunity to find the right working environment for each activity. In addition, even after Corona, they can work flexibly from home for up to two days of the week.

For the inauguration of the new headquarters, which took place under strict corona conditions, management and executives on site invited all MEC employees nationwide to a virtual office warming session with a tour of the new rooms via video switch.

The new office at Fritz-Vomfelde-Straße 18 in the Heerdt district of Düsseldorf is conveniently located just a stone's throw from the previous headquarters. This will be demolished in the summer to be used for a residential complex. 96 employees currently work at the headquarters of the nationwide market leader for retail park management. Like MEC's business, the headquarters are also designed for further growth.
