MEC acquires ten new locations in Bavaria

• Acquisition package of HanseMerkur Grundvermögen AG comprises a total rental space of almost 60,000m² 
• MEC's growth strategy continued beyond traditional retail parks

MEC is successfully continuing its growth strategy. As of October 1st, 2020, the German market leader for retail parks takes over ten retail properties of HanseMerkur Grundvermögen AG in Bavaria. The total rental space of this "Bavaria portfolio" amounts to just under 60,000m².

"With the acquisition package of the Bavaria portfolio, our growth strategy is gaining further momentum. We welcome the new locations to the MEC property management family", said Christian Schröder, Managing Director (COO).

In addition to the management of traditional retail parks and hybrid malls, MEC sees the property management of smaller retail properties as a further pillar of its growth strategy. "This enables us to offer smaller retail locations a professional, all-round service from a single source - always tailored to the respective customer needs," says Schröder.

MEC recently expanded its property management team to include the professional management of smaller retail parks and mixed-use properties. In this way, the operator of retail parks ensures that in-house specialists can also provide smaller retail locations with the comprehensive service of large retail parks. The aim is to offer tailor-made solutions to a wide variety of customers.
