69,500 m\u00b2 of retail parks leased<\/b><\/p>\n
Over the past year, MEC has successfully concluded new rental contracts and extended existing ones for an area totalling 69,500 m\u00b2. This includes renowned retailers such as Saturn, Medimax, Deichmann, Ernsting\u2019s family, Tiger, Starbucks, Decathlon, Only, Engbers, Ciao Bella, Stokke, Stoff&Stil and Pitstop.\n\u201cWe are delighted with the successful last year, and in increasing the letting performance by almost 5,000 m\u00b2 compared to the previous year, which is the result not least of high tenant satisfaction in our centers,\u201d says the COO of MEC, Christian Schr\u00f6der. <\/p>\n
On course for expansion: mandate for 10 new Centers<\/b><\/p>\n
MEC was more successful than ever before in 2017, with its expansion to new locations. Overall, ten new centers from five different investors were added to the portfolio: Burgaupark Jena, Forum Stein, Helvetia Parc Gro\u00df-Gerau, L\u00f6wen Center in Leipzig, Nordseepassage Wilhelmshaven, Ostkreuz Center Oststeinbek, Real Frankfurt (Oder), Real Weimar, Spitzkrug Multi Center Frankfurt (Oder) and W1 Hamburg Wandsbek.<\/p>\n
MEC implements its first independent project development<\/b><\/p>\n
It is also pleasing that the first project development initiated and supported by MEC is now on the home stretch at the Durlach Center in Karlsruhe. Based on the planning permission granted at the end of 2016, the final phase of the structural engineering project is currently under way. The newly built rental spaces for dm drogerie-markt and Decathlon have already been made available for the interior design work.
