• Authority issues preliminary building permit

• Refurbishment is completely implemented by MEC from a single source

Starting signal for the comprehensive modernization of the Dreieich Nordpark. The Düsseldorf-based MEC, center manager of the retail location just outside Frankfurt am Main, has now received the preliminary building permit from the responsible authority and thus the green light for the measures. An extensive refurbishment of the property, which was built in 1969 and has a sales area of almost 24,000 square meters, is now starting. MEC combines its local management skills with its expertise in the holistic modernization of retail locations during ongoing operations.

The project should be completed by the fourth quarter of 2023. Then the center for the local supply of the population, which is important for the region, will not only present itself in a new design, but also through an intelligent optimization of space with additional retailers and thus an expanded offer. "The concept developed by the MEC paves the way for a redesign of the Dreieich Nordpark and will also make it look even more attractive," comments Dreieich's Mayor Martin Burlon on the project, which the local administration and the magistrate have now also approved have.

Modernization from a single source

The efficient process is made possible by the fact that MEC implements the project from a single source. “Making a retail location like Dreieich Nordpark fit for the future requires a holistic view of the property, its surroundings and the demands of tenants, consumers and owners. This is the only way to create a practicable overall strategy that meets the requirements of the location today and tomorrow,” explains Jörg Wege, Head of Strategic Development at MEC. The company takes over the modernization of commercial locations such as the Dreieich Nordpark from a single source: from the conception to space optimization, planning and building law and structural implementation to the acquisition of new tenants.

There will be space for additional retailers in the Dreieich Nordpark in the future, as the new anchor tenant Kaufland has not taken over the entire area of the previous Real hypermarket and the sporting goods retailer Decathlon will use almost 3,000 m² of retail space in the future as part of a space optimization. Concepts from the areas of food-discount, drugstore and household goods should therefore soon ideally complement the mix of tenants and branches in the new Dreieich Nordpark.

• Behörde erteilt Bauvorbescheid • Refurbishment wird durch die MEC komplett aus einer Hand realisiert Startschuss für die umfassende Modernisierung des Dreieich Nordpark.
